Finding an approved driver education school in Ontario

by admin on April 18, 2010

A common way to possibly lower the cost of insurance is to enroll in a driver education course certified by the government of Ontario.

Not only does this have the added benefit of allowing for possible insurance discounts, but it also can reduce the 12 month period that a new driver with a G1 license has to wait until they can qualify for their G2 driving test. However, not all advertised driving schools are approved by the government of Ontario.

When selecting your driving school, it’s important to ensure that the school you select is listed as an approved school on the government’s website. Consulting the website is especially important for Toronto residents, as approximately 80% of driving schools that are no longer approved by the government are from the GTA area. A school may have been approved at one time, but can become no longer approved; be sure to consult the list before enrollment.
